PM Vishwakarma Yojana: Even today, millions of people in our country earn their living through traditional craftsmanship and craftsmanship.
Some are tailors, cobblers, blacksmiths, or others make toys, baskets, or other handicrafts to support their families. However, lack of funds, a lack of advanced skills, and expensive loans prevent many artisans from turning their skills into a business.
To address these problems, the central government has launched the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana.
In the last two years, nearly 3 million artisans and craftsmen have registered under this scheme.

What is the PM Vishwakarma Yojana

Facilities available to artisans

- Stipend: ₹500 per day during training
Loan facility in two phases
- First phase: ₹1 lakh loan for starting a business
- Second phase: ₹2 lakh loan for expanding a business
- Only 5% interest on loans
- Application is registered through Aadhaar-biometric verification through a CSC agent

- This scheme is specifically for people engaged in 18 traditional trades, such as:
- Barbers, cobblers, tailors, washermen, blacksmiths
- Stone carvers, sculptors, boat builders
- Basket or broom makers, toy makers
- Locksmiths, masons
- Fishing net makers, hammer or toolkit makers
